THE VOICE

Addressing the Audience

I enjoy every opportunity to speak, and there is an attention to detail needed in every type of presentation. A speaker needs to identify the needs of an audience and use a skilled rhetorical toolset to fulfill those needs.

The Covid-19 stay-at-home closures hit during my senior year. I wanted to explore the different ways stories are told and set out to interview musicians on their experiences. I had to reign in my charismatic presentation style into something more condensed, reserved, and editable. While telling a ten-minute story, I sharpened my vocal skills and audio editing abilities to chronicle the stories of local performing artists adjusting to isolation.

Many of the virtual interviews were conversational and long. I edited them down, cleaned up the quality, and framed the story with the most impactful quotes from each.
